Quick Start > Tutorial > Other Features

In addition to the basic keyword management and research covered in the Quick Start Tutorial, TheDowser has many other features which are briefly highlighted here:

  • Discover keyword popularity (number of searches per month) using the Overture Keyword Selector.
  • Discover similar keywords (keywords from related searches that don’t contain the initial search term) using the Google AdWords Keyword Tool.
  • Discover more specific keywords (keyword from related searches that contain the initial search term) using the Overture Keyword Selector.
  • Discover more specific keywords (keywords from related searches that contain the initial search term) using the Google AdWords Keyword Tool.
  • Edit keywords
  • Add keywords to multiple keyword lists at once. It’s recommended to research your keywords using a single list, then distribute keywords between the targeted sublists when you get more than 1000 keywords in this list.
  • Delete keywords from multiple keyword lists at once. If you decide that any keyword is not targeted, you can easily remove it from all your keyword lists by running this command, then clicking ‘Select All’ in the tree of keyword lists.
  • Move keywords to the Recycle Bin. If you decide that any of your keywords is garbage, you can move it to the recycle bin, then empty it in order to get rid of this keyword permanently.
  • Combine keywords with the given words. You will definitely love this feature when you need to add product models/versions to the list. For example, you can select ‘motorola’ and ’siemens’ in your keyword list, run this command, enter ‘cell phone’, ‘phone’, ‘mobile’, etc. in order to add ‘motorola cell phone’, ’siemens cell phone’, ‘motorola phone’, ’siemens phone’, etc. to your keyword list.
  • Combine keywords together. This function is similar to the previous one, however keywords will be combined with each other, not with the given words or phrases.
  • Combine words together, separately for each keyword. This feature is useful when you need to permute your keywords. For example, ‘free web template’ will be permuted to ‘web template free’, ‘web free template’, ‘template free web’, ‘free template web’, etc.
  • Combine words together, for all keyword words. This feature is similar to the previous one; however it permutes ALL words from the selected keywords.
  • Create new lists using keywords as list names. It’s a great feature that allows you to easily organize your keywords. For example, you can select the ‘web template’ keyword, then select this function in order to create a new list named ‘web template’ and automatically copy ‘web template’ to it.
  • Create new sublists using keywords as list names. This feature is similar to the previous one; however it creates sublists, not lists on the same level in the tree of keyword lists.
  • Search on various search engines. TheDowser allows you to search on more than 100 search engines: top 15, meta crawlers, Pay-Per-Click, news, shopping, picture, ftp, etc. You can select multiply keywords in your keyword lists, and then run this command in order to search for multiply keywords at once on the selected search engine.
  • Copy keywords to the clipboard in various formats: text, HTML, comma-separated list, automatically generated ‘keywords’ meta tag and Google AdWords keyword lists (broad match, phrase match and exact match).
  • Copy your keyword list with visible columns to clipboard in various formats: tab-separated list, HTML table, comma-separated values.
  • Export keywords in various formats: text, html, comma-separated list, automatically generated ‘keywords’ meta tag and Google AdWords keyword lists (broad match, phrase match and exact match).
  • Export your keyword list with visible columns in various formats: tab-separated list, HTML table, comma-separated values.
  • Print your keyword list.
  • Open your keyword list in your web browser.
  • and much much more…
